Tuning PETG on an Ender 3: a five-step profile
Nozzle 240°C, bed 80°C, 40 mm/s — and four more knobs that actually matter.
PETG is unforgiving on a budget printer. Here is the profile we ship with every PETG Crystal Clear sample.
1. Temperature
Nozzle 240 °C, bed 80 °C. Below 230 °C you get poor layer bonding; above 250 °C you get stringing.
2. Speed
Keep it at 40 mm/s for the first 5 mm, then 50 mm/s. PETG hates fast overhangs.
3. Retraction
1.5 mm at 25 mm/s. More than 2 mm and you risk jams.
4. Cooling
30 % part cooling, off for the first layer.
5. Z-offset
0.04 mm higher than PLA. PETG sticks to everything.
